Suspects Arrested in Burglary Ring That Hit Ramona Equipment Rental Yard

Suspects were arrested last week who wereΒ alleged to have beenΒ part of a burglary ring that targeted equipment rental yards in San Diego andΒ Ramona, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's Detectives from the Ramona Station served three search warrants on the homes of Christina Mutascio-Zykwa and Loriann MartinezΒ in San Diego on Dec. 12, according to Sergeant B. Hout. They were arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and conspiracy, and aΒ third suspect is still outstanding. Β 

Hout said theΒ ring used rental vehicles to burglarize equipment rental and maintenance yards primarily in San Diego. The suspectsΒ allegedlyΒ burglarizedΒ One Stop Equipment Rental in Ramona on Nov. 27, an incident whereΒ tools valued at $2,400 were stolen and thenΒ recovered, and aΒ 34-year-old male booked, according to a Sheriff's DepartmentΒ report.

Hout said the ring isΒ believed to be responsible for about twenty burglaries during the course of last year, which took place during the day and night and resulted inΒ losses valued at tens of thousands of dollars.Β 

The arrests were partΒ of a three week investigation by the Ramona Sheriff's StationΒ and the San Diego Police Department. During the investigation, Ramona detectives seized stolen property, methamphetamine, cocaine, hash oil, narcotic prescription medications and made five arrests.Β

The three other arrests were made for drug possession and manufacturingΒ charges in the residences that were searched, according to Hout.
