Blooming Pink Lilies: Photos Of The Day

Patch loves photos! Share your photos with Patch and your work could be featured.

RAMONA, CA — Patch reader Cheryl Johnson captured these photos of Amaryllis belladonna, which she said are blooming all over Ramona. The plant is also known as the belladonna lily, naked lady lily, March lily and Jersey lily.

"What's cool is that the plant's leaves sprout in the spring, then die back. When these amazing flowers bloom, they are on only a stalk," she explained. "After the blooms die back, the leaves will start growing again. I love the beautiful pink!"
