Car Goes Over Embankment, Catches Fire In Ramona: Report

A man was airlifted Monday just before his car burst into flames after crashing through a guardrail.

RAMONA, CA — A 35-year-old man was airlifted in Ramona Monday after his car went through a guardrail and caught fire, Fox San Diego reported.

At about 1:30 p.m. Monday on northbound SR-67, the man’s car struck the rail, went down the embankment, and then caught fire, CHP officials told Fox. Officials said the man was pulled from the vehicle just before it caught fire. He was airlifted to Palomar Medical Center with major injuries.
