Changes in NCTD Services To Include Sprinter and Coaster

Coaster schedules change this week and work on the Sprinter line will affect some travelers.

Changes for the North County Transit District's train services were due to begin Monday with a new schedule for the Coaster, which runs from Oceanside to San Diego.

The first of 11 Coaster weekday runs was scheduled to leave Oceanside at 5:18 a.m. and arrive at the downtown Santa Fe Depot one hour later.

The last train to depart San Diego was due to leave at 7:08 p.m. and arrive in Oceanside at 8:10 p.m.

Also this week, work will begin to repair track for the Sprinter, which runs between Oceanside and Escondido.

NCTD officials warn that, beginning Thursday, delays of 10-15 minutes are possible between the Oceanside and College Boulevard stations, and that all riders have to change trains at the College Boulevard station. Passengers will not need to change trains on weekends.

They said it could be faster to take express buses between the Oceanside and Vista stations.

The work on the Sprinter lines is scheduled to last through February.

Details on both service changes are available online at gonctd.com.
