Crash Stops Traffic on SR 78 East of Ramona

A traffic collision involving as many as five vehicles snarled traffic on state Route 78 just north of Ramona Sunday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol dispatchers.

The CHP reported minor injuries in the crash that occurred just before 10 a.m. Both directions of state Route 78 were blocked at Rancho Santa Teresa for over an hour as crews worked to clear the scene, CHP dispatchers said.

The roadway was cleared by 11:20 a.m. but the closure had backed up traffic in both directions, leading the CHP to continue a traffic advisory for another 30 minutes.
