Excessive Heat Warning Remains in Effect
Ramona residents should avoid hiking and camping, as temperatures are expected to reach up to 116.

An excessive heat warning for the deserts is in effect until 10 p.m. Monday.
Monsoonal moisture to the east is expected to cause hot, humid conditions in the deserts, the National Weather Service said.
Daytime high temperatures could reach up 116 Monday. Residents should remember that hot days followed by warm and humid nights can limit the body's ability to keep cool. Hiking and camping should be avoided if possible during the heat wave.

Strenuous activities should be schedules for the early morning or evenings and people should remember to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in the shade or air conditioned environments.
