Five-Acre Fire Near Zoo Safari Park Contained
No structures were damaged, and a cause has yet to be determined.

Cal Fire crews have contained a five-acre fire that broke out just before noon Wednesday east of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, according to a spokesman. No structures were damaged.
The incident commander has released all air resources, and crews will be on the scene for a few hours mopping up, said Capt. Mike Mohler. No cause has been determined, and investigators are on the scene, Mohler said.
Santa Ana conditions have brought hot, dry weather and offshore winds to the region, raising the risk for wildfires. The weather pattern is expected to last through Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.
