Man Found Fatally Shot Inside Vehicle In Ramona

The man was found with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle in the intersection of state Route 78 and Haverford Road, authorities said.

RAMONA, CA — A homicide investigation was underway Wednesday after a man was found with fatal gunshot wounds inside a vehicle in San Diego County, authorities said.

A woman in the area of the intersection of state Route 78 and Haverford Road in Ramona called sheriff's dispatch at 11:24 p.m. Tuesday and reported hearing multiple gunshots, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies responded to the intersection and found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle, sheriff's Lt. Joseph Jarjura said.

Deputies provided medical aid and paramedics took the victim to a hospital. He died around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jarjura said. He was not immediately identified.

The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation, Jarjura said. There was no suspect information.
