Montecito High's Canfield Named Ramona Unified Teacher of the Year

Carol Canfield teaches both math and language arts at the local continuation school.

Montecito High School language arts teacher Carol Canfield has been named the 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year for the Ramona Unified School District, it was announced Thursday.

Canfield is in her sixth year at Montecito High schol, where she's pioneered courses in both math and language arts. District Superintendent Robert Graeff said Canfield has been "instrumental in leading numerous innovations at her school."

According to Graeff, the high school teacher is one of a handful of district teachers piloting 21st Century technology with classroom iPads, and teaches multiple academic subjects on a daily basis.
