Photo of the Week: Long Riders and Covered Wagons

Barry Claessens shared a picture of the last American long rider.

Here in Ramona, it's not unusual to see llamas, camels and horses wandering down the street. But one Patch reader captured a rather unique site on the Ramonan roads on Tuedsay—an American long rider!

Barry Claessens sent in this picture to Ramona Patch, saying:

"From what I got from them, they have gone from coast to coast and that when they are done he will be put in the Guinness World Record. He is more than 80-years-old."

Residents asked about the covered wagon a few weeks ago when it was spotted on Highway 78. The picture above was snapped by Claessens as the rider traveled with his donkeys and buckboard on Dye Road.

This is one of the moments in time that makes you stop and say "only in Ramona!"
