Prescribed Burn May Be Visible In East County This Week

Cal Fire will burn 200 acres of brush near Pine Valley to create a fuel break.

Smoke may be visible in many parts of San Diego County this week as Cal Fire conducts a prescribed burn in East County to get rid of brush that could fuel a wildfire.

The burn will take place from around 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. southwest of Pine Valley, reports Cal Fire Capt. Mike Mohler.

About 200 acres will be burned over the next few days and into Saturday, he said.
