Ramona Elementary Principal Is 'Elementary Principal of the Year' for this Region of the State

Phyllis Muñoz is due to receive her official award at a special dinner on April 20.

Ramona Elementary School Principal Phyllis Muñoz has been selected as Elementary Principal of the Year by Region 18 of the Association for California School Administrators (ACSA).

"Based upon her strong leadership skills and the remarkable rise in student achievement over the past three years at Ramona Elementary School, she will be receiving this award representing all of San Diego and Imperial counties," Superintendent Robert Graeff of Ramona's school district reported in a news release Friday.

In a special awards dinner scheduled for April 20, administrators and board members representing both ACSA and the California School Boards Association will present Munoz with her official recognition.

"Congratulations to Phyllis and the staff members, parents, and students at Ramona Elementary School for gaining one more exciting piece of recognition for the outstanding work in the Ramona Unified School District," Graeff stated.
