Ramona Firefighters Raise Money for the Burn Institute

Donations are accepted at three locations in Ramona and at other locations throughout the county.

The 12th annual Firefighter Boot Drive to collect money for the Burn Institute is happening today. Firefighters at stations and major intersections around the county are takin donations at various stations during commuting hours. More than $210,000 was raised last year. The money funds fire and burn education programs, and survivor support programs like Camp Beyond the Scars for children ages 5-17.

In Ramona, firefighters will be accepting donations at Station 80 at Main and 10th streets, and also at San Vicente and Gunn Stage roads in the San Diego Country Estates, and at Highway 67 and Dye Road, at the Mt. Woodson Station 82.

Major locations include Front and Ash streets downtown, Rosecrans Street at Midway Drive; Paseo del Norte at Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad; Olympic Parkway, E. H Street and Telegraph Canyon Road all at the 805 freeway in Chula Vista; Via Rancho Parkway at Interstate 15 and Broadway at state Route 78 in Escondido; and Mission Gorge Road at Cuyamaca Street in Santee. Other locations are available online at burninstitute.org.
