Ramona Patch Joins Local Chamber of Commerce
Five representatives of Ramona Patch gathered with the Ramona Chamber of Commerce's staff, board and ambassadors for a ribbon cutting ceremony outside the chamber office Tuesday.
The Ramona Chamber of Commerce welcomed Ramona Patch as a new member on Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony outside the chamber building.
Ramona Patch is an online news and information site operated by Patch Media Corp., a subsidiary of Internet pioneer AOL Inc. There are nearly 800 Patch sites throughout the United States, including 11 others in San Diego County. Ramona Patch launched Dec. 6.
Ramona Patch local editor Julie Pendray was present along with senior regional editor Chris Jennewein, who is a former director of SignOnSanDiego.com, the online site of The San Diego Union-Tribune.

Lee DeLay, senior advertising manager, was also present, along with Patch's regional publisher for San Diego, Steve Suhrheinrich. DeLay has been helping San Diego businesses with their marketing for more than 15 years. Surheinrich was formerly vice president of sales for San Diego News Network.
Ramona Patch freelance reporter and local resident Ruth Lepper also attended.

Mac MacWilliams, representing Rep. Duncan Hunter, gave Ramona Patch a commemorative certificate.
Pendray has previously been on the staff of The San Diego Union-Tribune, KFMB-Channel 8, The Times-Advocate and Radio New Zealand.
