Ramona Tennis Champion Jessica Failla Named Star of the Month by Hall of Champions

Ramona High SchoolΒ singles tennis champion Jessica Failla was honored as a
High School AthleteΒ Star of the Month for November by the San Diego Hall of Champions, the organization announced Thursday.

FaillaΒ was one of six high school athletes chosen for that honor by the SDHC in November. In the same announcement SDHC honoredΒ El Cajon's Jimmie Johnson who won six of the Sprint Cup races recently and a coupleΒ San Diego raised NFL players.

The SDHC awarded Failla the honor because sheΒ handily won the CIF singles tennis championship in November.

The tennis star is the third person in her family to win a high school tennis championship andΒ didn't lose a single set during the last season. Though only a junior in high school, she's committed to playing for theΒ University of Southern California.
