Ramona Town Hall Receives $128K; Funds to be Used for Building Repairs

The Jean Ghilbert Trust left the money to the historic building and association.

Ramona Town Hall has received a "substantial" monetary gift that will help complete the rehabilitation of the East and West Wings of the historic building, the Trustees of the Town Hall announced Tuesday.

The Jean Ghilbert Trust left $128,000 to the Town Hall.

"The funds received as a result of this gracious gift have been earmarked by the Trustees to accomplish tasks necessary to complete the rehabilitation of the East and West Wings of the Ramona Town Hall, as well as accomplish some necessary maintenance in and around the Town Hall and surrounding courtyard," a news release said.

The total cost for rehabilitation of Ramona Town Hall is said to be in the neighborhood of "$2 million."

"The Trustees intend to continue aggressive fund raising and search for grants to allow the ultimate rehabilitation of the Town Hall to be completed for the benefit of the entire Ramona community," according to the news release.
