Rider Of Mobility Scooter Ejected, Killed In Crash In Ramona
The 76-year-old woman died at the scene of the crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.
RAMONA, CA — The rider of a mobility scooter was struck and killed over the weekend on a dimly lit thoroughfare in Ramona, authorities said.
A 2014 Toyota Camry struck the three-wheeler from behind shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday on state Route 67, near Julian Street, according to the California Highway Patrol. The rider of the scooter was ejected onto the roadway.
The 76-year-old woman died at the scene of the accident, CHP Officer Jasmine Lopez said. Her name was withheld pending family notification.

Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the crash, Lopez said.
