Sexual Assault Report in Ramona; Sheriff's Department Seeks Information

The Sheriff's Department is asking the public to provide any information about a possible sexual assault on April 8 in an alleyway between Main and D streets in downtown Ramona.

A 17-year-old Ramona resident reports that she was walking behind Jack in the Box between 11 p.m. and midnight when she was assaulted by a male wearing dark clothing, including possibly a dark hooded sweatshirt, according to Sheriff's detective Dan Morsch and a news release. The investigation is ongoing.

The Sheriff's Department reminds the public to always walk in pairs at night, stay in well-lighted areas and to be aware of surroundings.
