
The San Diego CountyΒ Sheriff's Department announced that theirΒ "Holiday Watch" program begins this weekΒ to increase safety and deter shopliftingΒ during this busy shopping and traveling season.Β
Holiday Watch in Ramona will consist of a Sheriff's Horse Patrol on Main Street Saturday, Dec. 7 and 14, from 5-8 p.m.
The department describes theΒ "crime-fighting initiative" as partΒ enforcement and part education. They said to expect more patrols in your neighborhood, malls, parking lots and other hot spots for criminals. Sheriff's SKYWATCH will be deployed at parking lots around the countyΒ to spot suspicious activity, but is not planned to be usedΒ in Ramona. Deputies also plan conduct undercover operations to check on parolees and probationers.
