Vegetation Fire Breaks Out In Ramona

The fire was reported around 3 p.m.

RAMONA, CA -- A vegetation fire broke out Saturday afternoon at a riverbed in Ramona. Fire officials said the blaze broke out on Montecito Road near Ramona Street around 3 p.m.

Forward progress of the seven-acre fire, which briefly prompted evacuations of nearby homes, was stopped by 5 p.m., fire officials said.

Evacuations and road closures were lifted by 5 p.m.
