Here are the top stories today in Rancho Bernardo-4s Ranch:
- California may be the first state to institute a 32-hour work week for a large number of workers — namely, those who work for companies with more than 500 employees. A bill that is being considered by the California legislature would likely change the work week for such companies to four, eight-hour days, and people who work longer than four days would receive overtime pay. (Patch)
- A pedestrian was struck and killed in Encinitas on April 8 around 8:30 a.m. by a North Coastal Transit District Coaster train near the La Costa Avenue overpass. The Sheriff's Station's Transit Enforcement Unit responded to a report of the accident and found the person had already died. If you have any information about this incident, please call the Sheriff's Department's non-emergency line at 858-565-5200. (Press Release Desk)
- San Diego Mesa College is hosting its 29th annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 28, at 4:30 p.m. in the Mesa College Gymnasium, and the public is invited to attend.
