Cool Zone Sites Open In 4S Ranch, Rancho Bernardo Ahead Of Summer

SAN DIEGO, CA — The County of San Diego recently reopened its annual Cool Zones program so residents can beat the heat this summer.

The county created the program two decades ago to provide free and safe air-conditioned spaces for older adults, people with disabilities and others with health concerns that could be complicated by the effects of extreme heat.

The program will run through Oct. 31. Cool Zone sites include the county's 33 branch libraries, community centers and other locations across the region.

These are the Cool Zone locations in 4S Ranch and Rancho Bernardo:

• County of San Diego Library - 4S Ranch Branch, 10433 Reserve Drive, San Diego
• Ed Brown Center for Active Adults, 18402 West Bernardo Drive, San Diego
