1. The brother and sister coerced their cousin to work for them at two local nail salons, Eden Nails Lounge & Spa and Majestic Nail Salon. They threatened to have her deported if she did not work 12 hours per day, seven days a week. Now the siblings have been sentenced for their crimes. 3. The Rancho Bernardo Inn was inducted into Historic Hotels of America in 2021, and now it has been named for its Hotel Gardens, which grow fresh produce for the resort restaurants. The signature restaurant’s Chef de Cuisine said of the garden: "When walking to the garden to see what I'm going to cook for the day, I feel very lost in the beauty of the nature that surrounds the property. I want every single guest who dines at AVANT to see the beauty of the amazing fruits and vegetables we grow right here on the property."
