🌱 'Sunflowers For Ukraine' + RB Community Foundation Grants

- It is a symbol of happiness, optimism, longevity, and peace, and it is the national flower of Ukraine. For this reason, an RB artist joined other local artists to create paintings of sunflowers to raise funds to help Ukrainians. The “Sunflowers for Ukraine” exhibit has earned more than $2,100. - Need a grant? The RB Community Foundation will provide grant funding for nonprofits whose purpose is to enhance the quality of life of those in RB. “We’re committed to the financial support of the Rancho Bernardo nonprofit organizations to build a vibrant community that benefits current and future residents,” shared Daniel Wilson, RBCF board president. “We want to improve the quality of life and meet emerging community needs by increasing responsible and effective philanthropy.” The foundation will accept proposals for grants between $1,500 and $10,000. - A resident of RB worked as a scientist doing research during the Cold War. He worked on fuzing and guidance systems for the U.S. military. Now he has put his experiences into a book. “(The laboratory) recruited the best scientific talent,” Rossi said. “It was interesting to read about them doing research and precise measurements for guidance systems and rockets.
