Local Girls Going to Lacrosse Nationals

Several local athletes are among the players who have been chosen to represent Orange and Los Angeles counties at the 2013 U.S. Lacrosse National Tournament the weekend of May 25-26 at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.

The area is sending two teams to the tournament; the one called "LA/OC" is coached by Juliet Mittlemann of Palisades Charter and Marissa Hewitt of Palos Verdes High.

The roster includes: Brigette Cervantes (Mission Viejo), Carly Escalette (Foothill), Cyrena Malkowski (Trabuco Hills), Emily Lackey (El Toro), Emma Kirker (El Toro), Gianna DiGiuseppe (West Hills Chaminade), Inbar Avrahami (Beverly Hills), Jenny Buckland (Woodbridge), Kathryn Ross (Foothill), Madeline Porter (Palos Verdes), Madison Larsh (El Toro), Marina Robertson (Dana Hills), Marissa Young (St. Margaret's), Meghan Payne (Mater Dei), Melanie Leong (Trabuco Hills), Natasha Kashini (Beverly Hills), Nicole Schock (Chaminade), Nicole Bartel (Palos Verdes), Olivia Merlino (San Clemente) and Victoria Avalos (Aliso Niguel).

The other team, called "OC/LA" is coached by Lee and Kristina Danbara of El Toro and includes Alison Kimbro (Aliso Niguel), Bridget Reed (El Segundo), Carly Naud (Foothill), Casey Zelhart (Palos Verdes), Ceilidh Kempton, Hannah Upshaw (Foothill), Isabella Mariles (Tesoro), Jennifer Dey (Beckman), Jenny Lange (Los Alamitos), Julia Taylor (Foothill), Katelyn Miner (San Clemente), Kenley Harrington (Mater Dei), Michele Macha (Mission Viejo), Molly Elkins (Aliso Niguel), Noelani Murayama (St. Margaret's), Shea O’Donnell (Beckman), Shelly Cummings (Mission Viejo) and Stephanie Bayer (Mater Dei).

The tournament—for players in grades 9-11—is held in conjunction with the NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse finals. MORE INFO HERE!
