Annual Fireworks Show at the Lake

Once again, the annual fireworks show in Rancho Santa Margarita will take place over the city's lake, Lago Santa Margarita.

The sky is expected to light up beginning at 9 p.m.

Unlike past years, there is construction going on at the lake, but it paused on Wednesday in advance of Independence Day.

To compensate for the loss of greenbelt on the popular viewing location for those residents of Rancho Santa Margarita who do not have access to the Beach Club, the local homeowners association has covered the construction site with red, white and blue tarps to create a so-called "Patriotic Zone."  

The area will not be available for placement of chairs and blankets until late afternoon on Thursday. To maintain the red, white and blue theme, it is hoped that guests place chairs and forego placing blankets over the tarps, or place red, white and blue blankets over the matching color area.
