Do you bite your nails? A man in Rancho Santa Margarita does, and a concerned resident thought he deserved a visit from the cops.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the aforementioned man was sitting in his black Mazda 3 hatchback late Saturday night.

He didn’t help himself by keeping a low profile, instead choosing to rev the engine while in the parking lot of the pool complex at Arroyo Vista and Banderas.

But the informant was concerned because he had been there for more than 30 minutes and, she pointed out, he was biting his nails.

The call was made Sunday morning, 12:16 a.m.

Hers was a call for help

A woman called the business line to the Orange County Sheriff and acted suspiciously. She sounded young, the operator noted, and did not answer the desk’s questions.

She complained that her parents were messing with her belongings, and the uncooperative young woman only talked when she wanted.

A call history showed there had been a mental case call previously from the phone line.

The young woman insisted on talking to a deputy. After a deputy arrived, she was taken to Mission Hospital due to threats of suicide and murder.

The call was made Friday, 4:42 a.m., from Wakonda.

Burglary report
, Saturday, 10 p.m., on Flor del Sol. A woman reported finding pray marks on her window frame; she did not know how fresh the marks were.

Disturbance, Saturday, 8:14 p.m., on Via Pausa. A resident complained about downstairs neighbors smoking dope and smelling up the upstairs residence.

Citizen assist, Saturday, 8:09 p.m., on Via Hermosa. A woman reported that she asked an upstairs neighbor to stop hosing down the patio, and in turn was squirted with water by the neighbor.

Terrorist threats report, Saturday, 3:18 p.m., on Gazapo. A woman reported her 13-year-old daughter had received two calls from a male who said he had been stalking her, knew everything about her and was going to rape her.

Illegal peddling, Saturday, 12:24 p.m., Santa Margarita Parkway and Antonio. Someone complained about a woman with four kids—toddler to teen—who was begging for money in front of the Rite Aid drugstore.

Drunk driving, Saturday, 4:13 a.m., Santa Margarita Parkway and Alicia. A woman reported her drunk boyfriend was speeding and slamming on the brakes. The two argued while on the 9-1-1 call and the man refused to pull over; he smashed into a curb. It sounded as if the man took the phone and disconnected it. Deputies later determined the drunk driving was unfounded.  

Disturbance—music or party, Saturday, 2:57 a.m., Montana del Lago and Fundadores. A resident complained about a loud party from an address believed to be on Montana del Lago, in which beer pong was possibly being played in the garage. Deputies were unable to locate the disturbance.

Disturbance, Saturday, 12:13 a.m. on Wild Horse Loop. A man reported his uncontrollable 16-year-old daughter was swinging her purse at everyone in sight.
