Briefing RSM, July 26: Marijuana Dispensaries, Hot August Nights
Worthwhile notes for residents of the Rancho Santa Margarita area.

Taking a look at what's going down and coming up for residents in the Rancho Santa Margarita area.
• Rancho Santa Margarita prides itself on being business friendly, but family friendly trumps all. City Council unanimously passed a first reading of an ordinance that would make it illegal for medical marijuana dispensaries to operate in the city. After the second reading, it becomes law. At the same time, the City took the first step toward making it legal for fortune tellers to operate in all its commercial zones.
• The Summer Concert Series at Central Park continues on Sunday, 6 p.m., with Hot August Nights, a Neil Diamond tribute. The first two concerts each had about 2,500 or more in attendance. Bring a blanket or chairs, and your dancing shoes.
• The Capo Unified School District reached a tentative agreement that will add but more school days, but apparently eliminate Open House nights. How do you feel about that?
• Sadly, the victim of a motorcycle crash in Irvine claimed the life of a Lake Forest man, who was identified on Thursday.
• Everybody loves a bargain and there's sure some to be found at the 35th annual garage sale of a Lake Forest neighborhood figures, which figures to attract lots of people on Saturday and Sunday. About 150 houses are expected to participate.
• A 22-year-old man has been arrested for the shooting in Silverado Canyon on Wednesday that put that area on lockdown.
• Rick Warren begins preaching Saturday, 4:30 p.m., marking the first time the Saddleback Church pastor has taught since the death of his son in April. Warren will speak both Saturday and Sunday on the topic, "How to Get Through What You're Going Through."
