Crime: 'Dad, It's Prom Night'
An all-nighter raises concerns. Also, loud parties, a shaky bicyclist and kids causing trouble. Those and other calls to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Saturday night was a prom, and apparently for one Rancho Santa Margarita dad, it was his first.
Of course, this situation might have been diffused if his kid had bothered to check in once in a while.
According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, a man called on police services Sunday morning at the office at City Hall about 7 a.m. to report that his daughter had not yet returned home.
The girl was last seen being dropped off at the Trabuco Hills High prom on Saturday night.
As far as we know, the story has a happy ending.
After reporting his daughter missing, the man went looking for her, and although he was unable to find her, he returned home about an hour later—to discover his little girl was back where she belonged.
Brazen contempt for the neighbors
Deputies received a report of a party with loud music at 11:25 p.m. on Saturday night.
Almost an hour later, there was another call about the house, informing police services that when the deputies left the house the first time, the partiers turned up the music.
The call came from Milagro.
But that wasn't the only party house rocking the night away. Deputies received two calls of complaint about a house on Belmonte. The second call, at 11:50 p.m.—about 90 minutes after the first call—indicated that the music had started up again.
A not-so-calm Sunday morning
A man called to report his 18-year-old son pulled a knife out of a drawer and threatened to kill him. The son takes medication for mood swings. He was taken into custody and held on $50,000 bail.
The call was made Sunday, 9:58 a.m., from Arado.
A shaky ride
An informant reported a man riding a bicycle without a helmet who was weaving in lanes and had issues maintaining his balance while crossing eastbound on the Santa Margarita Parkway Bridge.
The man was stopped in front of Starbucks at Las Flores by deputies who noted he appeared to have Parkinson's Disease with heavy body tremors.
The man was advised to be careful on the roadway. He continued on his journey by walking his bicycle through the parking lot.
The call was made Friday, 10:46 p.m., from Santa Margarita Parkway and Alicia.
The bad seeds of youth
A school carnival at Melinda Heights Elementary took on a dark tone when a group of junior high and high school-aged kids were being disruptive and refused to leave.
The call was made Friday, 6:13 p.m., from the school on Rancho Trabuco.
