The annual fishing derby for Rancho Santa Margarita residence who fall under the SAMLARC homeowners association umbrella takes place Saturday at the Lakeshore Park and Amphitheater on the north end of Lago Santa Margarita.
The three-hour event begins at 7 a.m.
The lake has been well-stocked but come out early as the fish go down when the sun comes up!

Fishing Derby Info:
-Registration will take place the morning of the event
-One fishing pole per person
-Children under fourteen (14) must be accompanied by an adult at all times
-Boats are not permitted
-Participants must provide their own fish buckets
-Last weigh in at 9:30 a.m.
-You must be a SAMLARC resident to win a prize
-Winners will be announced at 10:00 am.
