Hobby Lobby Opens Down the Road, In Old Mervyn's Store
Stretch of Portola Parkway might as well be known as Craft Row with Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's and Michaels in the same area

Portola Parkway may have a new identity: Craft Row.
After Hobby Lobby opened its doors a week ago in Foothill Ranch, it was sandwiched between a couple of familiar faces to crafters: JoAnn's and Michaels.
The new store is located at 26732 Portola Parkway, an easy drive from Rancho Santa Margarita.
The Hobby Lobby is in the old Mervyn's Department Store, which has been vacant since the company liquidated its assets in 2008. The new store seems like a Party City, Michaels and a Home Goods store rolled into one.
All Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sunday but are opened Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The company is headquartered in Oklahoma City, where it started as an extension of Greco Products, a miniature picture frame company founded in a garage by their current, CEO, David Green in 1970.
