Intruders Try Kicking In the Door

A Rancho Santa Margarita resident reports people attempting to get into his house, and they're not using much finesse.

What could have turned into a major confrontation inside a Rancho Santa Margarita residence fortunately was turned away by a sturdy door and lock.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, a man reported that someone was trying to kick in the door to his Tijeras Creek residence.

The informant, on the phone with 9-1-1, kept putting the phone down and telling the operator he was going to defend himself.

He reported that there were multiple subjects who were trying to break down his door in order to get inside. The man had a history of confrontations with neighbors, but deputies were unsure if there was a connection to this incident.

By the time deputies arrived about four minutes after they were dispatched, the subjects at the door had gone and could not be found.
