New Mayor, Councilmember Sworn In To RSM City Council

Rancho Santa Margarita voters have spoken — a new mayor at-large and councilmember were sworn into the dais this week.

At the regular meeting of the Rancho Santa Margarita City Council held on December 11, 2024, final election returns canvassed and certified by the Orange County Registrar of Voters certified the following candidates were elected to office: One Mayor at-large: (1) Tony Beall (full four-year term, respectfully), and One Member of the City Council residing in District 3: (1) Keri Lynn Baert (full four-year term, respectively).

Certificates of Election were presented to Tony Beall, sworn in as Mayor, and newly elected Council Member Keri Lynn Baert, who took the oath of office on behalf of District 3 and was welcomed to the Council at Wednesday night's meeting.

The Council selected Brad McGirr to serve as Mayor Pro Tempore for the 2025 term. In addition, Mayor Pro Tem McGirr was appointed the City's representative to the Orange County Fire Authority's Board of Directors.

The City Council will reconvene on January 15, 2025.
