New Veterans Monument's Final Design OK'd In RSM
The final design for a veterans monument at Central Park was approved unanimously in Rancho Santa Margarita.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — The final designs for a new veterans monument at Central Park were approved by the Rancho Santa Margarita City Council.
The expanded, 15-foot installation will feature military service seals and a dedication plaque, according to Councilmember Anne Figueroa, who spearheaded the effort to build the monument.
"Creating a permanent monument to honor our veterans has been one of the most meaningful efforts I have ever worked on," Figueroa told Patch. "Rancho Santa Margarita is home to so many who have served, and this monument ensures their courages and sacrifice will forever be recognized by future generations."

"There are days when veterans just need somewhere quiet to sit, remember and reflect," Steelman said. "A monument like this becomes a place of healing and connection — something every community should provide its veterans."
Construction is expected to start March 2026, with completion expected by May 2026.
