The shock of having your car hit by a water balloon can be unnerving—and dangerous.

But a water balloon incident on Saturday night also caused some extensive damage to a vehicle.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, a man reported his windshield shattered when it was struck by a water balloon.

The incident took place about 8:30 p.m., while the man was driving northbound on Antonio Parkway near Tijeras Creek Elementary School. He said it took place just before reaching the field at the school.

The victim maintained control of the car and called for police services about five minutes after the incident happened, at 8:37 p.m.

The call was made made from San Angelo.

This report was culled from the Orange County Sheriff's website. Not all facts in each report are made public; the outcome of the report and its actual facts may differ from the original blotter item. There should be no assumption of guilt based on this limited information.
