Wells Fargo Janitor May Have Saved the Day—and the Loot

Man smells something amiss inside the bank and calls 9-1-1 to make sure it doesn't ignite into something bigger.

The smell of money? It's not so bad that it would have you call 9-1-1.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the maintenance worker was inside the building on Feb. 23, about 8:30 p.m., when he smelled something that wasn't quite right coming from a room that was locked.

He feared that there may be wires burning and requested the Orange County Fire Department respond. The OCFA was able to eventually clear the scene.

This report was culled from the Orange County Sheriff's website. Not all facts in each report are made public; the outcome of the report, as well as the facts, may differ from the original blotter item. There should be no assumption of guilt based on this limited information.
