A late morning argument took a turn for the worst on Tuesday that led the arrest of a Rancho Santa Margarita woman.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, a man called 9-1-1 and claimed his wife tried to stab him with a steak knife.

The man's 2-year-old son was also at the residence.

The man secured himself in the bedroom away from his pajama-clad wife.

Deputies cleared the residence and took into custody Ashley Michelle Barwinski, 28; according to the OCSD website, she is being held on $100,000 bail.

The call was made Tuesday, 10:35 a.m., from Via Amistosa.

This report was culled from the Orange County Sheriff's website. Not all facts in each report are made public; the outcome of the report may differ from the original blotter item. There should be no assumption of guilt based on this limited information.
