A re-paving project on Brookside Avenue slated for last week between San Mateo and Center was delayed and will now take place Friday Aug. 2, according to city officials.
The following is a statement about the re-scheduling from City of Redlands spokesman Carl Baker:
Due to unforeseen conditions, paving on Brookside Avenue that was scheduled for last Thursday, July 25, had to be postponed. This work will now occur on Friday, Aug. 2.
The eastbound lane of Brookside Avenue between San Mateo Street and Center Street will be closed for repaving between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. During this time, traffic will be detoured to Olive Avenue.
Parking will be restricted on Brookside Avenue during the construction. Affected residents along Brookside will have access to their property. Signs will be posted 72 hours in advance of repaving indicating parking restrictions.
The City Council awarded the contract for construction of the Brookside Avenue and Ash Street Pipeline Replacement Project to Miramontes Construction Co., Inc. on May 7, 2013. The project is funded by Water revenues. No General Fund dollars will be used to construct this project.
The Project was designed and is being managed by the City of Redlands Municipal Utilities and Engineering Department.
