She is a tireless widow. For a 70+ year old woman, she works over 30 hours per week to enhance the philanthropy capacity of the Redlands League (formally The Redlands Assistance League). This has allowed the funding of a low-cost dental center, school clothes for poor children and teenagers, emergency clothing for sexually assaulted victims, and much more. She never expects any recognition or any reward and always has a charming, kind word for everybody.

If you could tell them one thing, what would it be?

A little boy was provided school clothes. After he selected them he was given a toothbrush and toothpaste. He said, "For me? I don't have to share anymore?" He was then given toothbrushes for his whole family. He chose the red one! This was one of many examples of the love Beverly Sessums has made available to the people of Redlands.

What’s something you love most about your town or community?

The community that cares. The community that has pride. The best place to live!
