Chimney Flue Fire Damages Attic and Home on Jesse Way in East Redlands
The fire was reported about 11:30 p.m. March 18 at a single-family home in the 200 block of Jesse, east of Dearborn Street and north of 5th Avenue.

A fire caused by failure of a chimney flue damaged a two-story home on Jesse Way late Monday in east Redlands, city officials said.
The fire was reported about 11:30 p.m. March 18 at a single-family home in the 200 block of Jesse, east of Dearborn Street and north of 5th Avenue, Redlands spokesman Carl Baker said in a statement.
"When firefighters arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the chimney and attic space," Baker said. "An aggressive attack by firefighters kept the blaze contained to those areas."

The cause of the fire was determined to be a failure of the chimney flue, Baker said.
