
Here are five things to know for Tuesday July 23 in Redlands and Loma Linda:
- There's a meeting of the Summer Reading Club 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. July 23 at 173 S. Eureka St. in Redlands. Organizers say Allen Oshiro will be there to perform "phenomenal magic tricks and illusions!"
- The Redlands Planning Commission scheduled for 4 p.m. July 23 has been cancelled and the commission will meet next at 4 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 13, according to the city clerk.
- Local author Roy Akers is scheduled to give a presentation about his book "A Long Road Home" at 6 p.m. July 23 at A.K. Smiley Public Library, 125 W. Vine St. in Redlands. According to organizers Akers will discuss "his writing process as well as the trials and tribulations of publishing a first novel."
- Loma Linda Market Night is scheduled 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. July 23 at the corner of Anderson Street and Mound Street. Organizers invite the public to "enjoy fresh produce, food, and local vendors."
- A public meeting of the Loma Linda City Council is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. July 23 in council chambers at 25541 Barton Road, Loma Linda. Click here for the agenda.
