Heat Advisory Remains in Effect for Inland Empire
A heat advisory for San Bernardino and Riverside counties remains in effect until 9 pm Friday, the National Weather Service says.
INLAND EMPIRE -- The National Weather Service has issued heat warnings for the San Bernardino and Riverside County valleys, as well as the mountainous areas of both counties.
The valley warning includes, but is not limited to, the cities of Riverside, San Bernardino, Ontario, Moreno Valley, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga and Corona.
The advisory, which remains in effect until 9 p.m. Fri., Sept. 10, forecasts high temperatures in the mid-90s to 102 degrees within the San Bernardino and Riverside County valleys within the Inland Empire.

The hot weather may cause heat illnesses, according to the NWS. The Weather Service recommends precautionary and preparedness actions such as drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room, staying out of the sun, and checking up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should not be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
The heat warning for the San Bernardino County and Riverside County mountains also remains in effect until 9 p.m. Friday. It includes, but isn't limited to, the cities of Crestline, Lake Arrowhead and Idyllwild-Pine Cove.

High temperatures in the upper 80s to upper 90s below 6,000 feet are forecast and can cause heat illnesses, according to the NWS.
As with the above heat warning, the weather service is advising those in the area to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
