Inland Empire Soldiers For Jesus Motorcycle Club on Crestline Run Fundraiser
Submitted to Redlands-Loma Linda Patch by Gabe La Rosa
Not all motorcycle clubs deserve a "bad rap."
A motorcycle group known as Soldiers for Jesus M/C held a recent fundraiser at their 2nd annual "Crestline Run" near Lake Gregory. This run had been formerly called "The Run to the Springs" because in past years it had been held in Running Springs, Ca.
This very friendly and well-organized motorcycle club continues to grow all over the world. They have fund-raising events for many causes. This particular fundraiser was to raise money to assist their Brothers from Costa Rica to come to America for the purpose of attending their annual National Run in Durango, Colorado which is traditionally held over the Labor Day weekend.
Many of the Soldiers for Jesus, like others attending, were enjoying a great barbeque that included a variety of meat dishes. While enjoying the food and participating in the opportunity drawings, they were listening to the dynamic blues music provided by a band from Riverside, CA known as Jay Gordon & The Blues Venom. It was evident that everyone enjoyed the beautiful mountain breeze as they sat under easy ups sipping on their water, iced tea and sodas.
The Soldiers for Jesus believe in brotherhood. They minister to the motorcycling community and any others they meet along the way. They bring positive and spiritual teachings that often change lives. They are advocates of serving and aiding people from all walks of life. The Soldiers For Jesus have a great concern for our country and they want to see prayer in our schools again. They stand for God-given rights such as the rights to keep the name of God in our Pledge Of Allegiance.
One of the members, known as Mr. Kick, mentioned that the process of becoming a member of the Soldiers for Jesus is to first come to the club as a guest. After you have been a guest for a period of time, you become a "Hang-Around" which may eventually be elevated to a "Prospect." Finally, when the club leadership feels a "Prospect" is ready, he can become a "Patched Member." The process to become a Soldier for Jesus is not so unlike the process to become any other motorcycle club member.
Their Rules line up with "What Would Jesus Do?" The members of the Soldiers for Jesus take their vows very seriously. Although they realize it is not easy to be a Christian in these times and to continually show love, kindness, and self-control, they do make sure that the people they help know that God really does love them and there is a place in Heaven for them someday. It is all spelled out right there in the Bible.
