Lois K. Lauer of Century 21 Lauer Realty Dies; She Came to Inland Empire in 1946

The Lauer family asked that donations be made to the Redlands Symphony Association, the Family Service Association, or the Assistance League of Redlands.

Lois K. Lauer, chairman of the board for Century 21 Lois Lauer Realty of Redlands, died Saturday surrounded by loved ones at her home, family members told the Redlands Daily Facts.

Lauer's age was not disclosed in obituary notices.

Lauer and her late husband, Jim, arrived in the Inland Empire in 1946, according to her business' website, www.loislauer.com.

"They have two children, James Jr., an attorney, and Ann L. Bryan, Corporate Manager and Secretary-Treasurer of CENTURY 21 Lois Lauer Realty," Lauer's bio states. "Lois's son-in-law, Vaughn S. Bryan, became President of the company in 1989 when Lois became Chairman of the Board."

Lauer had been a realtor since 1964, establishing her own office in 1976 with two agents.

Her accomplishments in Redlands and the Inland Empire included:

      - 1987 University of Redlands Town and Gown woman of the year
      - 1994 San Bernardino Business Leader of Year San Bernardino County
      - 1996 Lois Lauer, Inc., one of Top100 Women-owned businesses in the Inland Empire
      - 1998 One of Women of Distinction by the Business Press
      - 1998 Realtor of the Year by Redlands Association of Realtors
      - 1999 City of Redlands Woman of the Year

Lauer was a member of Inland Action; member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Redlands; sustaining member of the Assistance League of Redlands; member of the Advisory Board of California State University of San Bernardino; past President of Redlands Symphony Association; former Trustee of the University of Redlands: past member of Horchow Magazine Advisory Board; a past reader in her church: and Lois was a mentor in the reading program at Victoria School. She was also an avid golfer.

Lauer was born and raised in Cincinnati, and she was daughter of a prominent businessman who taught her the importance of giving back to her community, her family told the Redlands Daily Facts.

Lauer is survived by her two children, her granddaughter, her brother, Sigmund Kriegsman of Redwood City, and two great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held.
