Loma Linda University Health to Host New Loma Linda Farmers Market Night

Officials with Loma Linda University Health and the Loma Linda Chamber of Commerce are touting a "soft opening" of the first Loma Linda Farmers Market Night on Tuesday June 4.

Farmers Market Night in Loma Linda will be held every Tuesday evening year-round in the parking lot on the southeast corner of Anderson Street and Mound Street, Loma Linda University Health spokesman Herbert Atienza said in an announcement.

The "grand opening" for Farmers Market Night in Loma Linda is scheduled 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday June 11, Atienza said.

The Loma Linda Farmers Market hosted by the Loma Linda Chamber of Commerce will continue every Sunday morning on Barton Frontage Road, Atienza said.

Farmers Market Night "fits really well with our efforts to promote wellness and encourage healthier lifestyles for everyone in our community," Dr. Richard Hart, president of Loma Linda University Health, said in a statement.

"We certainly look forward to having a venue where members of our community can come together and get to know each other," Hart said.

Farmers Market Night will feature organic produce, fresh fruits, and vegetables from local farmers, as well as prepared food, gifts, and services from local businesses and groups, Atienza said.

Loma Linda University Health includes Loma Linda University's eight professional schools, Loma Linda University Medical Center's six hospitals and more than 900 faculty physicians located in the Inland Empire. A Seventh-day Adventist organization, LLUH is billed as a faith-based health system with a mission "to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ."
