Man Responds to Craigslist, Robbed, Stabbed, Drives to Loma Linda Hospital

A 26-year-old man told deputies he was robbed and stabbed early Wednesday in Highland by somebody he met on Criagslist, then drove himself to Loma Linda University Medical Center for stitches, according to the Sheriff's Department.

The suspect remained at large and deputies were seeking more info.

Deputies were called to the emergency room in Loma Linda at 2:43 a.m. July 31, where the alleged victim said he was stabbed near the 7100 block of Buchanan Street, Highland Station personnel said in a statement.

The man told deputies he'd just met the suspect online through Craigslist.

"The victim said he picked the suspect up and drove him to several different locations when the suspect pulled a knife and demanded all the suspect's belongings," deputies said.

"The victim complied and gave the suspect his money clip, cell phone and credit cards," deputies said. "The suspect then told the victim to hand over his car keys but the victim refused, prompting the suspect to stab the victim in his hand."

The suspect ran and the man drove himself to the hospital.

"The victim suffered a severe laceration to his hand that required numerous stitches, deputies said.

The suspect was described as a white man, 20 to 30 years old, unshaven with short brown hair, tattoos on his left arm, and plugs in his ear lobes.

Anyone with more information was urged to call Highland Station Deputy P. Gentry at (909) 425-9793.
