1 Critically Hurt In South Bay Crash: Police
Police say the crash happened early Friday morning in the area of Western Avenue and Artesia Boulevard.
GARDENA, CA — One person was hospitalized in critical condition Friday morning following a crash in the South Bay, according to authorities.
Police say the crash happened just before 3:27 a.m. in the area of Western Avenue and Artesia Boulevard in Gardena.
There, officers found an unresponsive person inside a Chevrolet, according to the Gardena Police Department. The person, who was only described as a male by authorities, was taken by Los Angeles County Fire personnel to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for treatment.

It's unclear exactly what led up to the crash or whether the injured person was driving or a passenger. But police say it involved the Chevrolet and another driver in a Ford F150.
The intersection where the crash happened was closed for several hours as authorities conducted an investigation. It is now partially open, according to an alert.
