Driver Sought In South Bay Hit-And-Run Crash: Sheriff

The crash happened Monday just before 6 a.m. near the area of Rosecrans and Firmona avenues, according to authorities.

LAWNDALE, CA — Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a person who struck a pedestrian Monday morning in Lawndale and then drove away from the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies say the driver of the car was going westbound on Rosecrans Avenue, near Firmona and Ramona avenues, around 5:50 a.m. when it struck the pedestrian. Whoever was in the car failed to stop and continued driving westbound, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The LASD did not say what condition the pedestrian was in or if they were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The agency is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any video footage, from either surveillance or dash cameras, to contact the department's South Los Angeles Station at 323-820-6700.
