Elderly Man ‘Violently’ Attacked By Minors Near South Bay Pier: Police
The attack happened Thursday morning in Hermosa Beach, according to police.
HERMOSA BEACH, CA — Police say they arrested two minors accused of “violently” attacking an elderly man in Hermosa Beach Thursday morning.
The elderly man was in the area near the Hermosa Beach Pier just before 11 a.m. when two minors beat the man, according to authorities. Witnesses told officers that at some point, the suspects also brought out a gun, according to the Hermosa Beach Police Department.
He was treated at the scene, according to police, though the extent of his injuries was not clear.

Officers used surveillance cameras and a drone to quickly locate the minors inside of an Hermosa Beach restaurant and arrest them in connection with the assault, police said.
Their names weren’t released because they are minors, police said.

During the arrest, officers found a replica firearm inside the trashcan of the restaurant’s bathroom, police said.
