Bystander Injured By Stray Bullet During Altercation In Long Beach, Police Say

An investigation is ongoing, police say.

LONG BEACH, CA — A bystander was injured after being hit by a stray bullet during an altercation Tuesday evening in Long Beach, police say.

Officers responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of Redondo Avenue at about 5:20 p.m., the Long Beach Police Department said.

Initial investigation shows that a woman and man were in a physical altercation when a second man fired a gun, police said.

The stray bullet hit a bystander, police said, adding that he was left with a minor injury and treated on scene by fire rescuers.

The two men were taken into custody, police said. An investigation is ongoing, according to police.
